Ex-President Kufuor’s Son Turns Actor

The last son of Ghana’s former President, John Kufuor, has entered the movie industry as an actor, says fresh information reaching the News One newspaper.

The gentleman, whose name was given as Nana, is believed to be in his mid 40s and reports say he is a former United States soldier who has a flair for acting. He will soon become a regular face in Ghanaian and African movies. Nana currently has a movie to his credit and News One sources have spotted him on a movie location with some of the crème de la crème of Ghana’s movie industry. The said movie was directed by a Nigerian and featured popular African actress Yvonne Nelson.

It is described as one of the biggest movie projects to come out of Ghana. Nana is a carbon copy of his dad apart from the fact that the 74-year-old former President is older and taller. Opinions are however divided on why Kufuor’s son has decided to associate with the Ghanaian acting fraternity, especially when it is an industry still at its teething sates, with its structures not firmed. Nana is not the first child of a Ghanaian leader to have entered the movie industry.

Akosua Gyamamo Busia, daughter of Kofi Abrefa Busia, Ghana ex-prime minister, is also an accomplished Ghanaian actress based in the United States.

In the USA, actor Steven Meigs Ford is son of former United States President Gerald Ford and former First Lady Betty Bloomer Ford. News about Kufuor’s son’s entry, specifically the movie scene, has come at a time there is a huge attention for the movie industry.

It is on record that for some time now, a number of respected Ghanaians from different career backgrounds including musicians and presenters have joined the movie industry. The very recent ones in include Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), Ben Brako, Efya, Tiffany, Anita Erskine and Eddie Blay.
